Mr. Keeton is a United States Marine, animal advocate, and DBSA-Certified Peer Specialist. Since 2013, Mr. Keeton has worked as a Veteran Peer Support Specialist through the Department of Veterans Affairs, helping to serve and support homeless Veterans in SW MO. Mr. Keeton is a vital member of the HUD-VASH Team. He has helped bridge the gap between the Homeless Veterans served and the civilian Team members, who all share the collective goal of helping end Veteran Homelessness. This is done by a partnership between the VA and Public Housing Authorities by providing housing choice vouchers along with Case Management and Peer Support. Mr. Keeton has a unique understanding of dual disorders, medical and mental health diagnoses, and the VA Healthcare System. This allows him to serve as a Veteran-centric liaison helping Veterans navigate the large systems that can often add undue stress and leading to barriers to their care. When he is not supporting the coordination of services for Veterans, Mr. Keeton enjoys playing with his three rescue dogs, watching Star Wars with his six year old, and building out in his shop.
