Mrs. Morgan served people with mental illness and substance use for over 45 years. She retired from Truman Medical Center in February, 2016 after serving there for nearly 20 years as the Chief Operating Officer for Behavioral Health. The focus of her work since retirement has been to bring trauma informed practices to organizations and communities. She co-founded a community movement, Trauma Matters KC, in 2012 and has served on the Department of Mental Health’s Trauma Informed Roundtable since its inception. She is a certified facilitator for Investment in Excellence, 8 to Great and Franklin Covey Leadership modules.
