Karen Patton, CMPS, works as a half-time employee for Fulton State Hospital. She is a volunteer RESPECT speaker, and is part of the hospital’s Consumer Roles Team. She is a member of the hospital’s Cultural Competence Council and a Safe Zone volunteer. She first trained as a Peer Specialist in the state of Massachusetts and received her certification there, where she worked for a Community Support Provider providing peer support and transportation for clients awaiting assignment of a case manager. She relocated to the state of Missouri in 2011 and successfully completed the DMH training and certification process for this state. Karen is also certified for Mental Health First Aid.
